Elements of Design

The elements of design are utilized in every aspect of our lives. Learn what these basic elements are and how to tie them to scenic, lighting and costume design.

Lighting Design Outreach

Looking for assistance in your light hang and/or focus? I bring the lighting crew from the Department of Theatre and Dance and we help assist you and your students in the hang and/or focus of your current production, or basic lighting maintenance. This must be
planned months in advance.

State Standards

These presentations meet the following state education standards for high school students:

Theatre

Anchor Standard 1: Generate and conceptualize artistic ideas and work.

TH:Cr1.1.IIIb Create a complete design for a drama/theatre work that incorporates all elements of technology.

 

Anchor Standard 5: Develop and refine artistic techniques and work for presentation.

TH:Pr5.1.IIIa Use and justify a collection of acting exercises from reliable resources to prepare a believable and sustainable performance.

TH:Pr5.1.IIIb Explain and justify the selection of technical elements used to build a design that communicates the concept of a drama/theatre production.
