From music to poetry to digital art, Black Rock & Sage’s 2025 Launch Party brought the campus together to celebrate the depth and talent of Bengal creativity.
Black Rock & Sage Celebrates 2025 Issue with Packed Launch Party
Black Rock & Sage, ISU's student journal of creative works, hosted the Launch Party for the release of its 2025 issue on October 1 in the Pond Student Union. For almost a quarter of a century, BR&S has been the showcase publication for Bengal artistic expression--from music to visual arts, from costume sketches to dance, from maps to paintings and photography, without neglecting literature of all genres. The Launch Party demonstrated it once again.
With over 110 guests in attendance, party patrons got to snack not only on baked deliciousness and tasty charcuterie, but also on the delight from awesome musical performances, a beautiful digital exhibit of visual art, and the memorable readings of poems and stories by the 2025 issue contributors, all students. This year's launch party was truly a worthy follow-up to last year’s Benny Bengal Award winner for the Best Event on campus in 2024.
We are open now for student submissions to the 2026 issue. For more information, visit blackrockandsage.org or follow us on Instagram @brs_isujournal
