EPA Selects Political Science Chair Donna Lybecker to National Advisory Committee

Due to her expertise on international border environmental issues, Idaho State University political science Professor and Chair Donna Lybecker has been selected to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s National Advisory Committee. She started her two-year term in late October.

Professor Jon Armstrong Releases New Album “Burnt Hibiscus” Produced by Orenda Records

Idaho State University Director of Jazz Studies Jon Armstrong released his new album, “Burnt Hibiscus,” produced by Orenda Records, on Nov. 4. The album is a collaboration between Armstrong and Indian-American vocalist and multi-instrumentalist Sheela Bringi. The compositions were inspired by classical Indian music, and feature lyrics from poet Erin Armstrong.

Idaho State University alumnus Roger Howard was born in Twin Falls, Idaho, but because of his father’s assignments for the Department of Agriculture, Howard spent his childhood years in Idaho Falls, Lewiston, Clarkston, and finally Boise, where he graduated from high school, as he says, “with less than a sterling record.”

Christmas is coming, but retired English Professor Susan Swetnam wants people to slow down and embrace Advent, the season that has preceded Christmas in Christian churches from the sixth century through today. For this reason, she recently published her eighth book, “A Season of Little Sacraments, Christmas Commotion/Advent Grace” with Liturgical Press of Collegeville, Minnesota.
