The Career Closet is a professional clothing-lending program. It offers wardrobe assistance to student veterans transitioning from college to the workforce.

The Career Closet maintains interview-appropriate clothing for both men and women applying for jobs. All clothing available is in like-new condition and follow the latest trends in professional attire.

Job-seeking student veterans are able to make an appointment to meet with a student wardrobe advisor at the Veterans Student Services Center. Together, they will select professional attire for the student to wear on job interviews, or professional occasions.

In addition to wardrobe services, the Veterans Student Services Center partners with the ISU Career Center to help student veterans build their resume and prepare for interviews.

Available clothing includes:

Men

  • Suits: dark, conservative
  • Dress slacks
  • Shirts: long sleeve, dress
  • Ties
  • Socks: dark or tan
  • Dress belts

Women

  • Suits: conservative pants or skirt
  • Dress slacks
  • Blazers
  • Hosiery: dark tights or sheer hose
  • Belts
  • Scarves

Donations Welcome

Donations to the Career Closet are always welcome.

The Career Closet is seeking new or gently used professional business attire and accessories for men and women in current styles.

Clothing items must be clean upon donation and hosiery must be new and in the original package.

Monetary donations towards the maintenance and improvement of the Career Closet are greatly appreciated and managed through the ISU Foundation. Please note on your pledge form that you would like your gift directed to the Veteran Student Services Center Career Closet to contribute.
