Sign Language Studies Minor

The Sign Language Studies minor is designed to supplement students’ Bachelor-level education in other fields. Students from all majors have minored in Sign Language Studies, developing beginning-level skill in American Sign Language and cultural competence in working with people who are Deaf, deaf, or hard-of-hearing. The courses must be completed before graduating with a Bachelor’s degree and can be extended over 3 to 4 years. This minor consists of brief introduction to the language and culture of Deaf Americans and in no way prepares students to work as sign language interpreters. The minor is only offered on the Pocatello campus.

Please see the ISU catalog for the Minor in Sign Language Studies course requirements
