Southeast Idaho AHEC
Where students and health professionals thrive!

Established in 2017, the Southeast Idaho AHEC is now one of three Area Health Education Centers (AHEC) in Idaho.

We join a cadre of 235 AHECs across the nation, whose members work to recruit, train and retain health professionals to work in rural and underserved communities - and to support efforts like ISU’s telepharmacy in Challis, Idaho.

We are dedicated to increasing access to primary care services for community members by enriching the educational experiences of health professions students and health professionals in Southeast Idaho.

This project is/was supported by the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) under grant number U77HP03022, for the WWAMI Area Health Education Centers, in the amount of $740,000 for the 2021-2022 fiscal year (with a 1:1 total match of $740,000 from non-federally funded governmental sources).
