Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs

Valerie Martin Conley was named Idaho State University's Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs December 9, 2021.

As the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs, she is the Chief Academic Officer of the University.

The Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs has oversight of units that directly impact instructional, academic and research programs. This includes the following administrative units:

  1. outreach campuses/centers
  2. research
  3. libraries
  4. divisions, institutes, centers, and colleges

In addition, the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs develops and assures compliance with administrative directives that support the mission of the University.  

Martin Conley is responsible for ISU’s regional accreditation by the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities.

Martin Conley's most recent role, prior to joining ISU, was as the dean of the College of Education at the University of Colorado - Colorado Springs.

She received her bachelor's and master's degrees from University of Virginia and her doctorate degree from Virginia Tech.
