In his position, Brian supports several units on campus, including Human Resources, Environmental Health, Safety and Sustainability, Public Safety, Facilities Services, and Auxiliary Services. Before this role, Sagendorf served as Idaho State University's Chief HR Officer since 2013. In that role, he led the Human Resources team to provide services for nearly 1,800 full-time university faculty and staff. As Chief HR Officer, Sagendorf worked extensively with University and state-level executive leadership to develop and implement HR policy.

From 2008 to 2013, Sagendorf served as the human resources director for the City of Idaho Falls, where he planned, organized, and directed all operations for the City Division of Human Resources in areas such as classification and compensation, talent acquisition, employee/labor relations, HRIS, benefits administration, employee development/training, and workers compensation/risk management.

Lisa Russell serves as the Executive Assistant for the Division of Campus Operations at Idaho State University, providing executive-level administrative and operational support to the Vice President for Campus Operations and the Vice President for Finance & University Planning. In this role, she manages executive operations, coordinates complex projects and communications, oversees high-level scheduling and event logistics, and serves as a trusted liaison among university leadership, campus departments, and external partners. She is committed to fostering collaboration, improving operational efficiency, and supporting strategic initiatives that advance the university's mission.

Lisa brings more than 30 years of progressive administrative, financial, and operational experience spanning higher education, public education, accounting, construction, and private industry. Prior to joining Campus Operations, she served as Management Assistant in Idaho State University's College of Health, where she supported executive leadership through major institutional initiatives, organizational transitions, budget administration, project coordination, and process improvement. Her career has been defined by building strong relationships, developing efficient systems, and providing thoughtful, solutions-oriented support to executive leaders.

Known for her collaborative approach, professionalism, and attention to detail, Lisa enjoys contributing to initiatives that strengthen the university while creating positive, lasting partnerships across campus.

Outside of work, Lisa is the proud mother of three adult children and enjoys reading, cooking, hiking and exploring the outdoors. She also enjoys attending concerts and believes life's greatest moments are often found in the simple experiences shared with family and friends.

Patience Ternus serves as the Innovation Hub Director for Finance and University Planning at Idaho State University, where she leads the development and coordination of the university’s centralized engine for innovation, institutional effectiveness, and strategic execution.

In this role, Patience works across academic and administrative units to translate strategy into action—aligning people, processes, and technology to improve outcomes, strengthen organizational agility, and build institutional capacity. She provides leadership and oversight for initiatives spanning systems and process improvement, change leadership, strategic technology enablement, project management, training and development, and product and service innovation.

Patience brings over a decade of experience in administrative leadership, operations, and organizational development within both public and private sectors, including prior work with ISU’s Campus Operations Division and the Office for Research Outreach and Compliance. She is known for her ability to connect teams, facilitate cross-functional collaboration, and implement practical solutions that support long-term institutional goals.

She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Organizational Learning and Performance, along with academic certificates in Organizational Leadership and Workplace Training.

Patience is an ISU alumna and the mother of two girls, and enjoys reading, cooking, gardening, and watching kung-fu movies.
