Human Resources Staffing Updates and Interim Contacts
Earlier this month, the University announced Brian Sagendorf’s appointment as Interim Vice President for Operations, a move that will temporarily impact leadership in the Office for Human Resources. Beginning in January, Brian will transition to the interim role until a national search can be conducted and a finalist selected to lead campus operations.
In Brian’s absence, Katie Thomas, Associate HR Director for Organizational Development and Culture, will serve as the Interim Assistant VP for Human Resources. Brian will continue to work closely with the HR team and campus community to ensure there is leadership and support for HR-related programs, projects, and committees.
The process to hire Idaho State’s next Vice President for Operations will begin in earnest at the conclusion of the search for ISU’s Vice President for Research, which is currently underway.
Additionally, in coordination with the Finance team and with continued reporting partnership with the Controller’s Office, the Payroll Services office has joined the HR team on an ongoing basis to bring improved alignment and collaboration to HR, Benefits, and Payroll operations. The HR team looks forward to this strengthened partnership, and for the opportunity to work closely with Finance in preparation for budget and change in employee compensation planning for the forthcoming fiscal year.
