A place ISU and the region can share

For many families, a visit to ISU is part of a story they tell for years. A graduation can mark the fulfillment of a long-held ambition. An event shared with friends can become a reason to return.

ICCU Bengal Arena is envisioned as a shared venue for university and community events, welcoming people from Pocatello-Chubbuck and the surrounding region. Its promise is the opportunity to make campus part of more people’s lives.

A history of gathering on campus

Since opening in 1970, the building now known as the ICCU Dome has hosted gatherings that connect ISU to the region. University and local high school commencements have brought families to campus. Concerts and state championship events have given visitors other reasons to make the trip.

The proposed ICCU Bengal Arena would extend that tradition of shared use. Its design will explore how another venue on campus could serve ISU celebrations and community gatherings.

Exploring the possibilities

The design will consider performances and state tournaments. Planning will also examine how the arena and surrounding complex will be evaluated, with the goal of providing enough convenient parking for fans and visitors.
