Steve Rice

Chair

A Pocatello native, Steve graduated from ISU in 1980 with degrees in Business Marketing and Business Management followed a decade later with an Accounting Emphasis MBA from Westminster University in Salt Lake City, UT.   After working for several national hospitality concerns Steve and his wife Cinthia purchased their first hotel in 1998.  They now own and operate a dozen hospitality and housing entities in Idaho and Montana along with a share of the FairBridge International lodging membership organization. 

Having served as Board Chairman for the State of Idaho Governor's Travel and Tourism Board, Idaho Lodging Association and Pocatello Chamber of Commerce Steve now spends his time directing his company while enjoying his ranch in north Idaho and winter retreat in Key Largo.  He oversees ISU's Rice Family Scholarship Endowment, was the major contributor for the renovation of the "I" in 2020 and sponsored the Board Room of ISU's new Alumni Building. Steve began his term on the board in 2021 and currently serves as Board Chair.
