3 PILLARS:
The Center is built around three core pillars. Those being Accessibility, Leadership, and Innovation. These pillars represent the foundation of our Center and provide the framework for the services, programs, and partnerships we offer.
Together, they reflect our approach to creating meaningful and sustainable change. Removing barriers through Accessibility, empowering people and organizations through Leadership, and developing practical, forward-thinking solutions through Innovation.
Our services align with one or more of these pillars, connecting everything we do to our mission of building more inclusive and accessible organizations.
ACCESSIBILITY:
Accessibility is the foundation of The Center for Accessibility, Leadership, and Innovation's work. This pillar focuses on helping organizations identify barriers, understand accessibility requirements, and implement practical solutions that create more inclusive environments.
Services within the Accessibility pillar may include accessibility assessments and audits, consulting, document remediation, digital accessibility, assistive technology, workplace accommodations, and accessibility training. Rather than focusing on compliance alone, The Center helps organizations understand where gaps exist and provides actionable recommendations for addressing them.
LEADERSHIP:
Lasting accessibility requires people who are prepared to lead it. The Leadership pillar focuses on developing the knowledge, skills, and confidence individuals and organizations need to champion accessibility and inclusion within their schools, workplaces, institutions, and communities.
Through training, consultation, professional development, strengths-based leadership, transition programming, and collaborative partnerships, The center works to empower leaders who can turn accessibility goals into sustainable organizational practices. This pillar reflects The Center's mission to empower leaders to build inclusive and accessible organizations.
INNOVATION:
Innovation moves accessibility beyond identifying barriers toward developing better ways to address them. This pillar focuses on practical, forward-thinking solutions that respond to changing accessibility needs, technology, workplaces, education, and communities.
Through research, collaboration, tools, training, and implementation-focused consulting, The Center can explore and develop solutions that make accessibility easier to understand, implement, and sustain. Innovation also allows The Center to bring together university expertise, professional knowledge, and community partnerships to address accessibility challenges in new and practical ways.
The Center for Accessibility, Leadership and Innovation services fall within and often connect across these three pillars. Accessibility identifies and addresses barriers. Leadership equips people to create and sustain change. Innovation develops better ways to put that change into practice. Together, the three pillars support The Center's larger vision of embedding accessibility into organizations through empowered leadership and innovation and inclusive practices.
