Forensic Behavioral Science: Getting Inside the Minds of Serial and Mass Murderers

This presentation begins with a brief overview of various forensic sciences before focusing on the application of forensic behavioral science to understand risk factors, motivations, and behavioral processes involved in cases of serial and mass murder. Forensic behavioral science plays an important role in homicide investigation, but also in potentially preventing cases of extreme violence.

Highlighting the FUN in Healthy FUNctioning

This presentation introduces the academic field of leisure sciences, which focuses on experiences people choose that are fun, enjoyable, and personally meaningful. Particular emphasis will be given on self-care and reducing risk for problem behaviors. Leisure participation is associated with physical and psychological well-being via positive emotions, coping, skill acquisition, and self-expression.
