The Academic Standards Council (ASC) is a sub-council of the Faculty Senate and reports directly to Faculty Senate. The purpose of the ASC is to recommend to Faculty Senate and then to the Provost/Vice President for Academic Affairs university policy and procedures pertaining to undergraduate academic standards for admission, progression, and the granting of degrees and certificates. Specific areas of concern include but are not restricted to:
- Advising
- Academic standards
- Scholastic appeals
- Admission and progression requirements
- Honors programs and societies
- Advanced standing and placement
- Evaluation of transfer policies
- Standards for award of ISU credit
- Review of academic calendars and scheduling
