Idaho State University is proud to host the fourth annual South-Eastern Idaho Youth Leadership Summit, formerly HYLS. This event is geared toward students in grades 9-12 but is open to all students. Students attending this event will engage in exciting, interactive, hands-on, and STEM-related breakout sessions, enhance their leadership skills, and be inspired by our keynote speaker. Students will have the opportunity to attend a college fair, apply for scholarships, talk with employers in our community, and get an overall sense of how college might fit into their future plans.

School Registration

Counselors and teachers can use this link to sign up as a group for the event. Students are encouraged to attend with their school; however, we also encourage all students to submit an individual RSVP so we can stay in contact with them about scholarships and other important information.

Individual Registration

Students are encouraged to complete this RSVP form, even if they are signed up to attend with their school. This will help us keep you informed about scholarships and other important deadlines. Students may also register to attend independently if their school is not planning to attend.

Scholarship Application

Current high school seniors may complete this form to qualify for a scholarship interview. Please complete this brief form so we can follow up to conduct a scholarship interview with you. ISU will be awarding ten $1,000 scholarships at this event.

Idaho State University's Land Acknowledgment Statement

Acknowledging Native lands is an important way to honor and respect Indigenous peoples and their traditional territories. The land on which Idaho State University’s Pocatello campus sits is within the original Fort Hall Reservation boundaries and is the traditional and ancestral home of the Shoshone and Bannock peoples. We acknowledge the Fort Hall Shoshone and Bannock peoples, their elders past and present, their future generations, and all Indigenous peoples, including those upon whose land the University is located. We offer gratitude for the land itself and the original caretakers of it.

As a public research university, it is our ongoing commitment and responsibility to teach accurate histories of the regional Indigenous people and of our institutional relationship with them. It is our commitment to the Shoshone-Bannock Tribes and to ISU’s citizens that we will collaborate on future educational discourse and activities in our communities.
