Dr. Theresa Huff Named 2024-2025 ISU College of Education Kole-McGuffey Award Recipient

Dr. Theresa Huff has been selected as the 2024-2025 recipient of the Kole-McGuffey Prize for Excellence in Educational Research.
The Peter C. Kole - William H. McGuffey Prize for Excellence in Education recognizes research that makes a meaningful and unique contribution to the field of education and is the most prestigious award bestowed by the College of Education for graduate students.
Dr. Huff’s research interests include online learner affective domains, open education, the role of AI in instructional design, and building an inter-institutional community of research and practice focused on online learner mental wellness.
She holds a doctorate in Educational Leadership – Instructional Design and Technology from Idaho State University’s College of Education. With over 20 years of teaching experience in K–12 education, she now teaches graduate students as an adjunct instructor while working full-time at Loyola Marymount University as an open educational resources (OER) Instructional Designer, supporting faculty through the OER design and development process. She is currently co-authoring an OER faculty handbook and guiding eleven faculty teams in creating instructionally aligned, accessible, inclusive, and interactive open resources.
Outside of her professional work, she enjoys traveling with her husband, reading, writing, legos, music, comedy, and spending time with her four adult children and three grandchildren.
