What Does the Future Look Like for Idaho’s Economy?
December 11, 2025

The Idaho State University College of Business invites industry leaders, business owners, students and community members to the third annual Idaho Economic Outlook Symposium.
The event, happening January 23 from 8:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. at the ICCU Bengal Alumni Center, will cover topics including real estate, health care and growth opportunities. Personal income forecasts, population growth, tax revenue forecasts and state expenditures will also be discussed. The event will conclude with keynote speaker Jason Hansen, distinguished research economist at the Idaho National Laboratory.
“Changes in the economic landscape affect all of us, but they are not always easy to interpret,” said Idaho State University Professor of Economics Dr. Iris Buder. “The Idaho Economic Outlook Symposium creates a space where people can hear different viewpoints, ask questions and connect broader trends to the challenges and opportunities they see day to day. We’re especially excited this year to bring two exceptional new voices into the conversation, Nathan Murray from Idaho Power and Jason Hansen from the Idaho National Laboratory. Their participation ensures this symposium blends real-world business and research perspectives, giving all of us a richer, clearer picture of what’s ahead for our state.”
Early bird pricing, which includes lunch, is $20 for community members, $10 for ISU faculty and staff and free for ISU students. Beginning January 1, prices will be $30 for community members and $20 for ISU faculty and staff. Proceeds from the event will go towards ISU student scholarships.
