Her work demonstrates a strong commitment to ensuring that all students are supported in balancing academic responsibilities with parenting or pregnancy-related needs.

Her professional training includes several specialized programs on Title IX compliance and pregnancy protections:

  • ISU Office of General Counsel Legal Education – Pregnancy Laws (April 2025)
  • Grand River Solutions – Pregnancy or Related Conditions Under Title IX (September 2025)
  • Grand River Solutions – Title IX Coordinator Training (November 2025)
  • Upcoming: Grand River Solutions – Decision Maker Training (December 2025)

Kenison will continue leading efforts to expand resources for pregnant and parenting students, provide direct student support, enhance campus communication regarding rights and accommodations, and develop training initiatives for faculty and staff.

“I’m deeply honored to take on this new role,” Kenison shared. “Supporting pregnant and parenting students is about more than compliance - it’s about fostering belonging, compassion, and equal opportunity. I look forward to continuing this important work alongside colleagues who share a commitment to ensuring every student can thrive.”

This appointment reflects the university’s continued commitment to advancing equitable access and institutional belonging under Title IX, ensuring that every student-regardless of circumstance-can pursue their education with dignity and support.
