Idaho State University Mourns the Passing of Sandeep Dhakal

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Sandeep Dhakal, a CAES student with Boise State University. On Friday, May 10, Sandeep passed away due to injuries sustained from a motorcycle accident in Boise. Sandeep was in the graduate program working under Brian Jaques on research with wire arc and laser wire additive manufacturing. He was planning to graduate in May 2025. Sandeep was selected for two internships at the INL: one as an undergraduate and again as a graduate. In addition, he earned his Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from ISU. Our thoughts and prayers go out to everyone who knew Sandeep. We wish them peace at this difficult time. A celebration of life was held in his honor in Boise May 15.
