Benny's Pantry in Need of Donations

September 21, 2023

Benny's Pantry supports student persistence by ensuring that their fundamental needs for food security are met, but a lot of their shelves are currently empty.

Benny’s Pantry is essentially a “store” where students may shop for free twice a month just by swiping their Bengal ID card. The Pocatello campus pantry is located on the lower level of the Pond Student Union, next to the billiards and bowling alley. Idaho Falls and Meridian campuses also have pantries.

Donations can be taken to the pantries or to the Student Affairs office suite in the Pond Student Union hypostyle. The Pocatello Pantry can now store refrigerated and frozen items, but make sure someone is present to receive your donation if you are bringing these items.

Easily-prepared food items are on the priority list at Benny’s Pantry right now. Ready-to-serve and shelf-stable items like soups, Chef Boyardee-style entrees and chili are in high-demand.  Toiletries are also much appreciated. Please remember that many pantry shoppers are living alone, so individual sizes (versus the giant or economy sizes) are always in demand.

For more information about the pantry or to donate, please visit the Benny's Pantry web page or call (208) 282-2794.
