Items Needed for Community Housewarming

June 27, 2022

The United Way of Southeastern Idaho is hosting a Community Housewarming.

The costs associated with moving into a new home can add up quickly, particularly for those on a very limited budget. The United Way is asking for donations to build Welcome Home Kits, stocked with essentials like kitchen tools, cleaning supplies, and toiletries.

The Idaho State University Graduate School is a collection site for the Community Housewarming.  Drop off donations prior to July 8 in the Graduate School office - Museum Building - Office 401.

Needs for the kits include:

  • Kitchen items: place settings (plates, bowls, silverware, glasses, cups), pans (frying pans, 4-qt saucepans with lids), bakeware (baking pans, cookie sheets), gadgets (strainers, cutting and paring knives, long-handled spoons, spatulas, tongs, can openers, measuring cups)
  • Cleaning supplies: sponges, brooms, mops, dish soap, hand soap, all-purpose cleaner, dishcloths, towels, paper towels, buckets, waste baskets
  • Bathroom items: towels (bath towels, hand towels, wash cloths)
