Conner Vrba: May 2022 CPI Intern of the Month

May 16, 2022

Conner Vrba, May’s Career Path Intern of the Month, is a counseling graduate student who currently holds a Career Path Internship with Idaho State University’s Counseling and Testing Services.

Within his internship, Vrba acts in a counseling role, providing services including individual and group counseling directly to ISU students. Vrba’s experiences have helped direct him on his professional path.

“I think the one big thing I have learned is the differences between a community counseling clinic and a university counseling center,” Vrba said. “It has pushed me to pursue a Ph.D. to help me obtain a position at a University in the future.”

In addition to providing counseling services, Vrba has also participated in outreach events for Counseling and Testing Services.

“Conner is always willing to go above and beyond his assigned duties, helping to table outreach events and be a student representative for CATS and advocate for mental health,” said Sally Bodkin, Counselor and Outreach Coordinator and Vrba’s supervisor. “He is diligent, communicative, professional, and kind in all of his interactions, and is the most dependable intern I have had the pleasure to work with.”

Vrba will graduate in May 2022, after which he will continue his education in the Ph.D. program for Counselor Education and Counseling at Idaho State University. Originally from Boise, Idaho, Vrba completed a B.S. in Psychology and Sociology while playing football at the University of Idaho. In his spare time, he enjoys various sports including pickleball, cooking, and spending time with friends and family.
