Renee Robinson Receives Distinguished Alaska Pharmacists Award

March 29, 2021

Renee Robinson, PharmD, MPH, MSPharm, associate professor for the UAA/ISU Doctor of Pharmacy Program has received the AKPhA-Sponsored 2021 Distinguished Alaskan Pharmacists Award.

This award was created in 1989 by the Alaska Pharmacists Association to recognize an Alaskan pharmacist who has worked in Alaska for over 10 years and devoted much of their career working diligently to promote and support the profession of pharmacy and community in which they live. Furthermore, they have served as a role model for younger pharmacists to emulate through their sustained contributions to the profession over time.

Robinson was selected by a committee of her peers. She started practicing in Alaska in 2008 and her contributions to the state in the more than 10 years she has been in Alaska are almost too numerous to count. She has spent nearly a decade advocating for the profession and the community through a successful career in many different positions.

More recently, she has taken her years of experience in mentoring others and now formally educates and serves future pharmacists through the UAA/ISU Doctor of Pharmacy Program.

An excerpt from her award recognition speech says: "Renee is always advocating and highlighting the work that pharmacists can do. She has more than 100 presentations at local, regional, and national venues and has approximately 75 peer-reviewed publications. She is an incredibly active member in state and national associations, serving in numerous leadership roles. Her service and commitment to her community is incredibly inspiring. Renee embodies all the qualities one looks for when evaluating individuals for this award."
