International Award Named for College of Education Faculty Member

July 19, 2021

The Division of Emerging Learning Technologies (DELT) within the Association for Educational Communications and Technologies (AECT) recently honored College of Education faculty member Dr. John Curry, for his extraordinary commitment, leadership, and service to the organization by creating The DELT John Curry Distinguished Service Award. This award recognizes outstanding leadership, service, mentorship, professional practice and dedication to the DELT division and AECT members.

This is not the first international recognition Dr. Curry has received for his professional contributions. In 2020, Curry was awarded the AECT Presidential Award for his leadership and service to the organization and to the field at large.

”Dr. Curry’s service and leadership in planning and executing the national convention was remarkable. The successes of this event— attendance, tone, and sessions — are a direct result of his tireless work and service,” AECT President Michael M. Grant said.

Curry is an associate professor in the Instructional Design and Technology program and chair of the Organizational Learning and Performance department within ISU’s College of Education.
