New Roles for Student Affairs Staff

September 16, 2021

Dear Campus Partners,

It is my pleasure to announce some exciting changes for three of our Student Affairs staff.

Effective October 4, 2021, Ches Barnes will become the Associate Dean of Students. In this role, Ches will be on the Pocatello campus routinely, addressing student conduct concerns, co-advising ASISU, and supervising the Student Leadership and Engagement Center. He will continue to oversee Idaho Falls student affairs and student services operations, including supervision of the Assistant Director and other staff. Brad Broschinsky, currently senior academic advisor, will assume the role of Assistant Director and Senior Academic Advisor. Brad will continue to serve as an academic advisor while also taking on the day-to-day operations of the student services functions in Idaho Falls.

Ches and Brad have both amply demonstrated their dedication to student success in their current positions and in a variety of ways over the years. We are excited to announce this transition, knowing that our students and student services on both campuses will benefit from their commitment to a life-changing Bengal experience for every ISU student.

On the Pocatello campus, Dianna Cowell has been promoted from Management Assistant to Executive Assistant to the Vice President of Student Affairs and Enrollment Management. Those of you who have had contact with Dianna in the past know what a pleasure it is to work with her. She is a model of efficiency, courtesy, and professionalism. I am confident Dianna will thrive in this new role and that we also will benefit greatly from this well-deserved promotion.

Please join me in congratulating Ches, Brad, and Dianna!

Lyn Redington, Ph.D.

Vice President for Student Affairs and Enrollment Management
