Psychology Associate Professor Xu featured in national NPR story/podcast on quitting smoking

Idaho State University faculty member Xiaomeng (Mona) Xu, associate professor of psychology, is featured in a January National Public Radio feature and an Apple podcast “How to Quit Smoking with Help from Science.”

Xu was recorded for the podcast in KISU’s recording studio back in September, but NPR waited to release the story until January to increase its impact for right after the New Year when many smokers are making resolutions to quit. In Xu’s portion of the podcast she explores the idea of smokers embracing other things in their lives to help them quit.

NPR promoted the story by saying, “Trying to quit smoking can be hard. The good news is the science behind how to quit smoking is very clear. This episode gives you strategies to help boost your chances of success”
