Idaho State Theatre and Dance to host “Courageous Conversations” trainings

October 12, 2020

The Department of Theatre and Dance will host a two-part virtual series focusing on Equity, Diversity and Inclusion training through a theatrical lens.

Partnering with the Journey Theatre Project, the trainings will take place on Oct. 16 from 12 - 12:50 p.m. and Oct. 20 from 2:30 - 4:45 p.m.

The Journey Theatre Project (JTP) works with non-profit organizations, corporate entities, educational, religious and community organizations to create a brave space for courageous conversations. JTP challenges traditional power structures and works to disrupt unconscious bias through the use of theatre, dialogue, game and data.

JTP builds theatre with communities around social and local issues. JTP believes reflection, dialogue and action are all needed to create transformation. Learn more at thejourneytheatreproject.com.

This project is sponsored by the Idaho Commission on the Arts and the National Endowment for the Arts and is meant to support Idaho State University’s Department of Theatre and Dance as well as the community at large. This event will be hosted virtually to allow all interested parties to participate safely during the pandemic and is free and open to the public.

To RSVP for the event and to receive Zoom credentials, please email Vanessa Ballam ballvane@isu.edu.
