ISU Idaho Museum of Natural History Science Trek 2015, a night of science exploration for children, set April 24-25; registration deadline is March 31

The Idaho State University Idaho Museum of Natural History and Idaho Public Television will present a night of scientific exploration for children in third through fifth grade with Science Trek 2015, which will be held Friday, April 24, and Saturday, April 25.

Participating children will roll out their sleeping bags and spend a night in the museum and be given the opportunity to learn about science in a fun and interesting way. Science Trek will include group activities, live science presentations, experiments and demonstrations.

Participants will be introduced to the saber-tooth cat, the spiral-toothed shark, ancient cultures, the dinosaur and other unique museum exhibits. The children will be allowed to choose one of a variety of science workshops to explore several fields of science, including archeology, engineering and nursing.

Pre-registration for Science Trek 2015 is required. The cost to attend is $43 per child. Registration is done on a first-come, first-serve basis and there is no registration at the door. The registration deadline is March 31.

Registered participants can check-in for the event starting at 6 p.m. April 24 and will be done at 8 a.m. April 25. All participants will receive an official Science Trek 2015 T-shirt.
