Idaho State University’s Central Academic Advising to present Fall Activities

This fall semester, Idaho State University Central Academic Advising will present the fourth annual semester-long student success and retention series Harvest Your Potential.

This program consists of student success presentations and activities scheduled throughout the semester.

Central Academic Advising encourages faculty to promote the Harvest Your Potential series to freshmen and other students to whom it would be helpful. Students who attend eight or more Harvest Your Potential events throughout the semester will receive an ISU gift bag.

Below is the complete Harvest Your Potential series calendar for Fall 2014. All 30-minute presentations are held in the Rendezvous Suites on the main floor of the Rendezvous Complex unless otherwise noted, and meet from 12:20 to 12:50 p.m.

∙ Sept. 3: Part-time Job Fair, 9 a.m.-1 p.m., Pond Student Union Ballroom
∙ Sept. 9-10: The Hero’s Journey—Your Adventure as a Student
∙ Sept. 16-17: Easing Math Anxiety
∙ Sept. 23-24: Mindfulness in a Minute
∙ Sept. 30-Oct. 1: Campus Involvement as Opportunity
∙ Oct. 10: Graduate Programs and Health Professions Fair, 11 a.m.-2 p.m., Pond Student Union Ballroom
∙ Oct. 15: Majors and Minors Fair, 10 a.m.-1 p.m., Pond Student Union Ballroom
∙ Oct. 21-22: Declaring Your Major and Catalog Year
∙ Oct. 28-29: Top 10 Skills Employers Seek
∙ Nov. 4-5: Outdoors at ISU
∙ Nov. 11-12: The Other Plan A—When You Need to Reconsider Your Major
∙ Nov. 18-19: Financial Aid and Scholarships

Attendance at Harvest Your Potential events will be verified through use of punch cards which are available at Central Academic Advising in room 307 of the Museum Building and the Student Success Center in room 323 of the Rendezvous Complex.

Freshmen, sophomore and undecided students are specifically encouraged to participate in this interactive, hands-on series through campus-wide advertising, incentives, and instructor and faculty support and promotion.
