ISU Preston center to open array of adult ed, job-training classes Oct. 10

The Idaho State University Outreach Center in Preston will offer numerous classes beginning in October. The Outreach center offers classes to "fill the gap between K-12 and technical/higher education."

Adult education classes in reading, writing, math, and language begin Monday, Oct. 10. Classes are offered Mondays and Wednesdays from 6 to 9 p.m. In addition, English as a second language (ESL) classes will begin Oct. 10, and will be held Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6 to 9 p.m.

If you or someone you know would like to improve reading, writing, language, and math skills to get a job, get a better job, get their GED, prepare for college, and/or help kids with their schoolwork, contact the center and register. All services are free.

The Job Training Program (JET) also is available in Preston. Classes in customer service and computers are offered for free to those who qualify. To find out if you qualify, contact Sonya at 852-3566 or Carol at 785-1848.

To learn more about the services available at the Preston Outreach Center or to register for the adult education or ESL programs, call 852-3566. The ISU Outreach Center is located at 16 S 100 W, Suite C. It is open Monday through Friday from 1 to 5 p.m.
