Children’s Chorus to perform Dec. 14

The Idaho State Children’s Chorus will perform its annual holiday concert at 7 p.m. Dec. 14 in Goranson Hall located in the lower level of the Idaho State University Fine Arts Building. The night will feature three separate choruses: the Select Chorus, the Treble Chorus and the Children’s Chorus.

The Select Chorus, ages 12-17, will begin the performance and will be conducted by Mary Ann Moser and accompanied by Jamie Ramsayer and Ann Bringhurst. They will sing selections of “It’s the Most Wonderful Time,” “Santa Claus is Comin to Town,” “A Joyful Alleluia” and “The Jesus Gift.”

The Treble Chorus, ages 6-9, will be conducted by Jana Saunders and accompanied by Katie Anderson. Two of the pieces they will sing include “A Zing-A-Za” and “It’s Beginning to Look Like Christmas.” Brett Bringhurst will assist on the drums.

The Children’s Chorus, ages 9-12, will round out the evening with “What Month Was Jesus Born In?” and “The Angel Carol.” Assisting on “The Angel Choir and the Trumpeter” will be the Bengal Brass. Brett Bringhurst will also join on “Jingle Bells Through the Ages.” The Children’s Chorus is conducted by Moser and accompanied by Von and Ann Bringhurst.

All students will join in the final number “Carols Four.” The concert is free and open to the public.

Auditions for next semester will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Jan. 3 in the Choir Room in the Fine Arts Building.
