Juanita Gonzalez was born and raised in Blackfoot, Idaho, and is a proud alumna of the College Assistance Migrant Program (CAMP) at Boise State University, a program made a significant impact in her life. She received her B.A. in Bilingual/Elementary Education and Spanish from Boise State University in 1999 and received her Master of Arts in Latin American Studies from the University of Texas at Austin in 2015. She has worked as an academic advisor for over 15 years with six of those years dedicated to supporting first-generation and low-income students. She is excited about the opportunity to provide an uplifting experience to ISU CAMP students.

I'm working on a PhD in Experimental Psychology, studying locomotion after a spinal cord injury. As a first generation and low-income college student, one of my greatest priorities is helping other first generation, limited income, and underrepresented students to reach their full potential in college and beyond. I work for TRIO so that I can help provide a variety of resources for these students to set them up for success. I enjoy spending time outside in all seasons and traveling everywhere I can with my dogs, and then coming home to relax with my cats.
