Purpose

The Tribal University Advisory Board was established by the 2019 Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) for the purpose of providing oversight of the yearly Strategic Priorities established by the Fort Hall Business Council and Idaho State University Senior Leadership. This is to include making recommendations for changes and/or adjustments, short and long-term planning, and monitoring and evaluating the Strategic Priorities.

Idaho State University’s President Robert Wagner and Shoshone-Bannock Tribal Council Chairman Lee Juan Tendoy signed a new Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) on April 9, 2025.  The MOA serves as ISU’s and the Tribes commitment to proactively strengthen the relationships to improve and enrich the quality of educational services, research, and economic development opportunities provided to and by the Tribes and ISU.

During the signing ceremony, we rose the Shoshone-Bannock tribal flag on the Hutchinson Quadrangle.

“May this flag, flying proudly on this campus, serve as a lasting symbol of our shared commitment to learning, respect, and partnership. And may the Memorandum of Agreement lead to a deeper and more impactful relationship between the Shoshone-Bannock Tribes and Idaho State University.” -President Robert Wagner
