Hola a todxs! Soy la Dra. Marin Laufenberg, Profesora y Directora del Programa de Maestría en Español en el Departamento de Estudios Globales y Lenguas en la Universidad Estatal de Idaho. Recibí mi doctorado de la Universidad de Wisconsin en 2017 con un enfoque en la literatura latinoamericana. Específicamente, estudié el teatro y la performance de Argentina en la posdictadura que lidia con la crisis y el trauma a través del uso del humor y la risa. Además de estudiar el teatro y la performance como campo académico, me interesa participar activamente en la producción del teatro y con ese fin, co-fundé un grupo teatral de estudiantes de posgrado durante mis años en la Universidad de Wisconsin. En el grupo, presentamos 5 obras completas de teatro hispano. Unas de las áreas de investigación que más me apasionan hoy en día, en relación con los estudios culturales latinoamericanos y la literatura latinoamericana, son-- los estudios del humor y los estudios sobre el afecto, el grotesco, el teatro, la performance, la Guerra de Malvinas, la crisis económica de 2001 en Argentina, las dictaduras y las posdictaduras en Latinoamérica, los derechos humanos, el teatro virtual, y la pedagogía teatral. Mi obra de teatro favorita de todas es Antígona furiosa por Griselda Gambaro. En mis ratos libres, paso tiempo haciendo senderismo con mi hijo y mi esposo cerca de nuestra casa en Spokane, Washington. Me encanta hacer ciclismo para explorar nuevos espacios y pueblos rurales también. Y soy aficionada al café
I'm Dr. Marin Laufenberg, Teaching Assistant Professor and Director of the Spanish MA Program in the Department of Global Studies and Languages here at Idaho State University. I received my PhD in Latin American Literature from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2017. In addition to studying theatre, I enjoy partaking in theatre praxis. I co-founded a Spanish language theatre group while at UW-Madison, and together we presented 5 full length Hispanic plays. Some of my research interests include: Theatre, Performance, Contemporary Latin American Literature, Affect Studies, Humor Studies, The Grotesque, Memory Studies, Post-Memory, Trauma Studies, Guerra de Malvinas, 2001 Economic Crisis in Argentina, Dictatorship and Post-Dictatorship in Latin America, Human Rights, Virtual Theatre, and Theatre Pedagogy. My very favorite Latin American play of all time is Griselda Gambaro´s Antígona furiosa. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family hiking, and I love road biking. I am a fan of coffee.

¡Hola a todxs! Me llamo Jess Ferronetti y soy estudiante de maestría en ISU. Es mi último año y voy a recibirme en primavera. Soy de Massachusetts y me gradué de Assumption College en Worcester, MA en 2018 con mi licenciatura en Español y Educación Secundaria. Soy maestra de español en una escuela secundaria en Massachusetts y enseño Español 2 y 3. También, pasé el año 2019 enseñando inglés en una terciaria en Córdoba, Argentina con el programa de Fulbright. ¡Fue una experiencia inolvidable! Fuera de todo, me encanta leer, correr, y hacer trekking en Nueva Hampshire. ¡Estoy emocionada de ser parte de este congreso!
Hi everyone! My name is Jess Ferronetti and I am a Master's student at ISU. It is my last year and I am graduating in the spring. I am from Massachuesetts and I graduated from Assumption College in Worcester, MA in 2018 with my Bachelor's in Spanish and Secondary Education. I am a Spanish teacher at a high school in Massachusetts and I currently teach Spanish 2 and 3. I also spent 2019 teaching English at a community college in Córdoba, Argentina through the Fulbright Program. It was an unforgettable experience! Outside of school, I love to read, run, and hike in New Hampshire. I am excited to be part of this conference!
Rick Andreasen

Mi nombre es Rick Andreasen, y actualmente soy estudiante de maestría aquí en la ISU y a la vez enseño una clase de Español 1101 para la universidad. Poseo una licenciatura en Traducción e Interpretación de Español de BYU y decidí continuar ahora con un programa de maestría. La excepcional calidad del programa en línea de ISU me ha impresionado enormemente, lo que me ha permitido seguir trabajando como quiropráctico mientras persigo este grado. Ha sido un verdadero privilegio colaborar con tantas personas maravillosas para planificar y poner en marcha el primer año de la Conferencia Arconexiones. Espero con entusiasmo regresar año tras año como exalumno del programa para observar cómo continúa creciendo.
My name is Rick Andreasen, and I am currently a Master's student here at ISU and also teach a Beginning Spanish 1101 class. I hold a BA in Spanish Translation and Interpretation from BYU and always wanted to pursue a Master's degree. The exceptional quality of ISU's online program has impressed me, enabling me to continue my work as a chiropractor while working on this degree. It has been a genuine privilege collaborating with so many remarkable individuals in orchestrating and launching the inaugural year of the Arconexiones Conference. I'm looking forward to returning year after year as an alumnus of the program to witness its growth and development.

¡Hola! Soy Juan Miguel Martínez Martínez, estudiante del Máster en español de la Universidad Estatal de Idaho (ISU) y maestro de español en EAGLE School (Madison, Wisconsin). Antes de mudarme a los Estados Unidos estudié un Doctorado en Educación por la Universidad de Granada (España) donde escribí una tesis sobre las nuevas formas de subjetivación neoliberales que se insertan en el espacio educativo a través de los discursos sobre lo digital. Paralelamente a mi trabajo de tesis, y como una forma de encontrar líneas de fuga, trabajé el tema de la memoria histórica, principalmente en los contextos chileno y español. En la actualidad mis intereses de investigación giran en torno a las formas en que la memoria histórica se reconstruye en el ámbito de la literatura contemporánea en España. Estoy particularmente interesado en cómo la literatura fantástica puede ser un espacio privilegiado para articular los discursos de la memoria en contextos donde existen tensiones internas y/o externas que impiden las narraciones sobre el pasado. Más allá del mundo académico, me gusta tomar café, leer y pasar tiempo con mi esposa. Estoy muy feliz de ser parte de la organización de Arconexiones en su primera edición y de poder trabajar con excelentes compañeros.
Hello! I am Juan Miguel Martínez Martínez, master’s student in Spanish at Idaho State University (ISU) and Spanish teacher at EAGLE School (Madison, Wisconsin). Before moving to the United States, I studied a Doctorate in Education at the University of Granada (Spain) where I wrote a thesis on the new forms of neoliberal subjectification that are inserted in the educational space through discourses on the digital. Parallel to my thesis work, and as a way of finding lines of flight, I worked on the topic of historical memory, mainly in the Chilean and Spanish contexts. Currently my research interests revolve around the ways in which historical memory is reconstructed in the field of contemporary literature in Spain. I am particularly interested in how fantasy literature can be a privileged space to articulate discourses of memory in contexts where there are internal and/or external tensions that prevent narratives about the past. Beyond academics, I like drinking coffee, reading, and spending time with my wife. I am very happy to be part of the Arconexiones organization in its first edition and to be able to work with excellent colleagues.

University. Mi meta es ser maestra de Español en el estado de Washington donde vivo. Actualmente trabajo en una elementary school como paraeducadora. Estoy muy emocionada de participar en la conferencia “Arconexiones”. Me siento afortunada de contar con compañeros y maestros que han ayudado a lograr mi meta y espero poder participar en otras actividades de la universidad en el futuro.
My name is Amantina Jeppson; I am currently a master's student at Idaho State University. My goal is to be a Spanish teacher in Washington State. I currently work as Paraeducador in an elementary school. I am very excited to participate in the “Arconexiones” conference. I feel fortunate
to have classmates and teachers who have helped me achieve my goal and I hope to be able to participate in other university activities in the future.
Tracy Stapleton

Yo soy Tracy Stapleton y he sido especialista en restauración de humedales, voluntaria del Cuerpo de Paz, y madre; y actualmente soy estudiante en el programa de maestría de español de ISU, esperando ser profesora universitaria. He vivido en el sur de Honduras, el sur de España y el sur de los EEUU. Además de disfrutar de leer la literatura y poesía en Español, me gusta hacer senderismo con mi familia, preparar comida vegetariana y jugar con mi hijo y nuestros dos gatos. Estoy encantada de ser parte de la primera conferencia Arconexiones y tengo muchas ganas de aprender de y conocer a todos los participantes.
Hello! My name is Tracy Stapleton and I have been a wetland restoration scientist, Peace Corps volunteer, stay-at-home parent and am now following my passion for the Spanish language by pursuing a Master's degree in Spanish at Idaho State University with the intention of teaching in higher education. I have lived in southern Honduras, southern Spain, and the southern United States. Besides enjoying reading Spanish literature and poetry, I like to hike with my family, cook vegetarian meals and play with my son and our two cats. I'm thrilled to be a part of the inaugural edition of Arconexiones and look forward to learning from and getting to know all of our participants.
Sonia Beccaria

Soy Sonia Beccaria, vivo en Milwaukee y he sido profesora desde 2000 en el área de Ciencias, pero siempre he tenido el desafío de inspirar estudiantes al estudio del Español desde la perspectiva de una persona que nació en un país de habla hispana como lo es Argentina. Actualmente, estoy trabajando como profesora de español en línea y también en modo híbrido en un Lakeshore Technical College en Cleveland, Wisconsin. Estoy muy agradecida del programa que ofrece ISU, nos permite acceder a profesores excepcionales y la calidad de sus clases en maravillosa. La carrera es muy completa y muy bien organizada debido brindan la oportunidad de elegir distintas clases para ir desarrollando tu interés por diferentes ramas de la Literatura, particularmente me he especializado en Literatura Latinoamericana. Por otra parte, también me gusta caminar cerca de espacios que tengan agua: ríos, lagos o mar y también desarrollar mi parte artística como fotógrafa, fotografiando atarcedeceres.
I am Sonia Beccaria, I live in Milwaukee, and I have been a teacher since 2000 in the area of Sciences. Still, I have always had the challenge of inspiring students to study Spanish from the perspective of a person born in a Spanish-speaking country such as Argentina. Currently, I am working as an online and hybrid Spanish teacher at Lakeshore Technical College in Cleveland, Wisconsin. I am very grateful for ISU's program; it allows us to access exceptional professors, and the quality of their classes is lovely. The degree is complete and well organized because it offers the opportunity to choose different classes to develop your interest in different branches
of Literature. I have specialized in Latin American Literature. On the other hand, I also like to walk near spaces with water, rivers, lakes, or the sea.
Marleni Colvin

¡Hola a todos! Mi nombre es Marleni Colvin, originaria de Lima, Perú donde obtuve una licenciatura en Educación Primaria y un bachiller en Educación. Crecí rodeada de educadores y comunicadores. El mundo de las comunicaciones era mi mayor interés, sin embargo, descubrí mi vocación educativa mientras ejercía actividades y responsabilidades en grupos de liderazgo y de cultura en mi comunidad. In 2002, mientras me desempeñaba como maestra, fui llamada a representar a mi país en un evento internacional de políticas de juventudes en Sevilla, España. También hice un servicio voluntariado de 20 meses por la selva y sierra central de Perú. Me mudé a los Estados Unidos en el 2012, aquí encontré problemáticas distintas y vi en mi carrera una forma de contribuir al conocimiento de las diversas riquezas de la cultura hispana mediante su lengua. Desde entonces me desempeño como maestra de español; he enseñado en todos los niveles educativos y actualmente enseño en una escuela media. Terminar el programa de maestría del ISU fue un lujo. El nivel de las clases y los maestros, fueron de lo mejor. Me gradué el pasado mayo del 2023.
Me gusta mucho la cultura, la historia y la literatura española y latina y espero en un futuro cercano hacer un PhD sobre el tema. Estoy culminando un curso de inglés para profesionales en la Universidad de Utah y en unas semanas empezaré un programa de Pedagogía Cibernética, también en la Universidad de Utah. Me emociona mucho ser parte de Arconexiones, de contribuir y aprender de esta gran comunidad estudiantil.
Hi, everyone! My name is Marleni Colvin. I am originally from Lima, Peru where I completed a Licensure in Elementary Education and a bachelor’s degree in education from Villarreal University. I grew up surrounded by educators and journalists. This last one was my principal interest at the beginning, but I found my passion in Education while I worked and served in leadership and cultural organizations in my community. In 2002, while working as a teacher, I received an invitation to represent my country in an international event in Seville, Spain, a gathering centered on politics and youth. I also performed a volunteer service in the jungle and mountains of Peru for 20 months.
I moved to the US in 2012, were I discovered new distinct obstacles and found an opportunity, as part of my career, to contribute to the knowledge of the diversity and richness of the Hispanic culture through its language. Since then, I have been teaching Spanish in all educational levels and currently I am a Spanish Teacher at a Middle School.
Finishing the Master program at ISU was a pleasure. The quality of the program and the knowledge of the professors were second to none. I graduated in May of 2023.
I adore the Iberic & the Hispanic culture, history and literature and hope that, in the near future, I can complete a PhD in that field. Currently I am completing an English course for professionals at The University of Utah and in a few weeks, I begin a Cyber Pedagogy program, also at the U.
I am very excited to be a part of the Arconexiones and look forward to contributing to and learning from this amazing community.
