Parent-Child Class is for ages 6-36 months and children must be accompanied by an adult in the water. These lessons are designed to help young children become more comfortable in and around the water and prepare them for youth lessons. This program is not designed to teach this age group to swim or survive in the water on their own, but to give parents useful information/ techniques to orient their children to the water and supervise water activities safely. Parents are required to participate in the water in this class (one adult per child), but are not required to have any special swimming skills. We require that all children not toilet-trained wear tightly fitting rubber or plastic pants or swim diapers.
Private Lessons:
Private lessons can be made in 30 minute or 1 hour sessions. Semi-private lessons are offered for 2-3 children of the same skill level and cannot accommodate children of different skill levels. Lessons can be made in 30 minute or 1 hour sessions. Availability for private lessons is based on instructor availability. Private lessons may only be held during “combo swim” hours. Please call the Campus Recreation Office at 282-4854 for more information on scheduling a lesson.
