What is a Sports Club?
ISU Sports Clubs are student organizations focused on sports and recreational activities. Many Sport Clubs are created because the talent, dedication to the sport and interest demand an opportunity for students other than varsity athletics or because no varsity team exists.
Why should I join a Sports Club?
Sport Clubs allow you to participate in a broad spectrum of sports or activities of your choice at your skill level. The ISU Sports Clubs program enriches your university experience, while promoting a balanced lifestyle of wellness and physical activity.
Student leadership and involvement is emphasized, with administration support. Some clubs represent ISU in intercollegiate competitions or conduct intra-club activities such as practice, instruction, social, and tournament play.
Who can join a Sports Club?
Part-time and full-time students, faculty, and staff at Idaho State University may join any Sports Club.
How do I join or start a sports club?
Join an Existing Sports Club:
Directly contact officers of the club you are interested in joining.
Start/Reactivate a Sports Club:
Contact Randall Miller to ask about starting a sports club that is not currently active.
Clubs are registered, chartered, and governed by the ISU Department of Campus Recreation. Sport Clubs must have a National Governing Body (NGB) for their sport to provide standards of competition and safety guidelines in their respective sports. The Sport Clubs Program recognizes NGB's from the Olympic Family or an established NGB with developed standards of competition.
