Student Recreation Center Expansion Project
A new expansion of the Student Recreation Center at Reed Gymnasium will greatly improve recreation space for ISU students. The two story expansion will take place on the east side of Reed Gym and will connect the current indoor tennis facility with the rest of the gym.
Groundbreaking: November 20, 2008
Size: 32,000 square feet
Cost: $7 million
Length of construction: 18 months
Estimated completion: mid or late spring semester 2010
Features of the new structure include:
- large multi-purpose recreation room
- free weight areas
- machine weight areas
- cardio machines and exercise areas
- campus recreation offices
- bathrooms upstairs and down
- a lobby area
- lounge areas
- equipment checkout area
- a two story, enclosed atrium area
