Bengal Dancer Biographies

Kia Ackerman

Hometown: Shelley, Idaho
Major: Massage Therapy
Year in School: Junior
Year on Bengal Dancers: 3rd

Prior to Bengal Dancers Kia was a competitive gymnast for the five years before High School then danced on Shelley High School's Topperettes Drill Team until her Senior year.  She also was a member of the Infinity Dance Studio’s Senior Team for 4 years. This summer Kia was awarded “All-American” honors at NDA camp in Las Vegas.


Megan Brockett

Hometown: Pocatello, Idaho
Major: University Studies
Year in School: Senior
Year on Bengal Dancers: 4th year

Prior to Bengal Dancers Meagan danced for 16 years.  She was a member of Century High School Diamond Dancers for 4 years and was head captain her senior year.  Meagan has also won 8 overall high point solo awards including Miss Pacific Northwest 2011, along with MVP lyrical solo National Champion in 2011. Meagan also won NDA Top Gun Turns contest in 2013. The last two years Meagan has won “All-American” dance title at NDA camp in Las Vegas. Meagan is the current Dance Captain and Spirit Leader for the Bengal Dancers.  She recently joined the NDA Staff where she is also on the Choreography team and representing ISU Bengal Dancers Nationally.  


Kayla Carter

Hometown: Pocatello, Idaho
Major: Economics/Philosophy- Pre Law
Year in School: Freshman
Year on Bengal Dancers: 1st

Prior to Bengal Dancers Kayla danced at Brindusa-Moore Ballet Academy for 7 years.  She was also a member of Highland High School Lassies for 1 year. 

 


Jocelyn Clawson

Hometown: Firth, Idaho
Major: Dance
Year in School: Sophomore
Year on Bengal Dancers: 2nd

Prior to Bengal Dancers Jocelyn danced 1 year with the Gem State Stars, 6 year siwth Infinity Dance, and 4 years with the Firth Drill Team where she was captain for 2 years.  Jocelyn was National Dance Champion as a youth dancer.

 


Lizzy Colbert

Hometown: Meridian, ID
Major: Exercise Science
Year in School: Senior
Year on Bengal Dancers: 4th

Prior to Bengal Dancers Lizzy has had 5 years of studio dance team experience and spent 4 years as member of the drill team at Mountain View High School.  Her senior year, she served as captain and helped her team win District, State and National Championships.  The last three years Lizzy has been honored as an“All-American” dancer at NDA camp in Las Vegas. Lizzy recently joined the NDA Staff and travels during the summer doing camps for NDA and different areas across the country.

Paige Collaer

Hometown: Boise, ID
Major: Psychology
Year in School: Junior
Year on Bengal Dancers: 3rd year

Prior to Bengal Dancers Paige danced for 17 years and on competitive studio teams for 10 years.  She has had the opportunity to multiple conventions and workshops and taken from some of the best choreographers in the business.

 


Jenn Dykman

Hometown: Pocatello, ID
Major: Radiology
Year in School: Junior
Year on Bengal Dancers: 1st year

Prior to Bengal Dancers Jenn danced for 11 years with Marius Zirra and Brindusa-Moore Ballet Academy.  Jenn has also trained in jazz.

Torie Elliott

Hometown: Nampa, Idaho
Major: Psychology
Year in School: Sophmore
Year on Bengal Dancers: 2nd

Prior to Bengal Dancers Tori has had 16 years studio dance team at Impulse Dance Academy and 4 years drill team at Columbia High School.  Her freshman year, she won State.  Tori has also attended various National conventions and competitions. The last year Tori was nominated for  “All-American” dance title at NDA camp in Vegas.

 


Hayley Greenwell

Hometown: Oakley, ID
Major: Physical Therapy Assistant
Year in School: Junior
Year on Bengal Dancers: 2nd  

Prior to Bengal Dancers Hayley has had 15 years of studio dance team experience. She also danced for 4 years on the Oakley High School Stingerettes and was a member of the Cheer Team.  Her senior year, she served as captain and helped her team win State. 

 


Kelsie Jenkins

Hometown: Boise, ID
Major: Psychology
Year in School: Senior
Year on Bengal Dancers: 4th

Prior to Bengal Dancers, Kelsie began training  in ballet, tap and jazz at age 3 ½ then later picked up hip hop and lyrical.  She trained at Dance Pros in Boise, ID for 14 years and at Xpressions Dance Academy in Nampa, ID for 2 years.  Kelsie participated in Ballet Idaho’s “The Nutcracker” in the roles of mouse, ladybug, dragon, party child and sailor from ages 6-15.  She attended various dance conventions and competitions, including LADF, The Pulse, Adrenaline and Jump all along the Northwest.  The last two years Kelsie was awarded as “All American” at the NDA Camp in Vegas. 

Morgan McGee

Hometown: Nampa, ID
Major: Secondary Education-History
Year in School: Freshman
Year on Bengal Dancers: 1st  

Prior to Bengal Dancers Morgan was a 4 year member of the Skyiew Blue Angels Dance Team.  Where she was co-captain and lead her team to back to back 4A Idaho State Dance Champions.  Morgan studied at the Kennedy School of Dance for 5 years. 


Shayna Newton

Hometown: Pocatello, Idaho
Major: Nursing
Year in School: Junior
Year on Bengal Dancers: 3rd  

Prior to Bengal Dancers Shayna has been trained in Ballet, Jazz, Hip-Hop, Lyrical and Ballroom since she was 2 years old and has taken gymnastics for 6 years.  Shayna was also a Highland Varsity Cheerleader for 4 years and was a member of the Highland High School Lassies dance team her senior year. She has also been able to perform at the Utah Stadium of Fire for the 4th of July and Pulse Dance Convention and participated in Ballet Idaho’s “The Nutcracker” for 3 years.  She is currently an instructor at Dance TNT here in Pocatello.


Scout Pahl

Hometown: American Falls, ID
Major: Dental Hygiene
Year in School: Junior
Year on Bengal Dancers: 2nd  

Prior to Bengal Dancers Scout danced at Marius Zirra School of Dance and Brindusa-Moore Ballet Academy.  She has performed in various ballets such as The Nutcracker, Cinderella, Swan Lake, Sleeping Beauty and had starring roles as Sugar Plum Fairy, Snow Queen, and Fairy Godmother.  Scout was was also a member of the American Falls High School Highlights and was co-captain her last two years.  Her team won State Champions all 4 years. 

Daysha Rupp

Major: Education
Year in School: Junior
Year on Bengal Dancers: 3rd  

Prior to Bengal Dancers Daysha has danced since she was 6 years old at three different studios.  She also was on the Pocatello High School Indianettes Dance Team for three years.  She was head captain her Junior and Senior year, leading her team to State Champs her last year. Currently she is a dance teacher at Gold’s Gym here in Pocatello. This year Daysha was named “All American” at NDA Camp in Las Vegas. 



Carlie-Ann Weber

Hometown: Huntington Beach, CA
Major: Psychology
Year in School: Junior
Year on Bengal Dancers: 3rd  

Prior to Bengal Dancers Carlie-Ann has danced for 14 years, including 9 years of cheer and 3 years of High School dance team.  She was Captain of her Song team her Senior year.

 



Jennika Welch

Year on Bengal Dancers: 1st  

Prior to Bengal Dancers Jennika has danced at various studios for 10 years.  She has been on a competitive team for the last 7 years where she was recently a member of the Infinity Dance Studio in Idaho Falls.
