POCATELLO— Idaho State University’s College of Arts and Letters will present Jerry Herman’s Tony-Award-winning “Hello, Dolly!” as the 2018 Summer Musical.

The show opens on June 13 with a 2 p.m. matinee performance. Additional performances will take place on June 14, 15, 16, 18, 21, 22 and 23 at 7:30 p.m. All performances will be in the L.E. and Thelma E. Stephens Performing Arts Center Beverly B. Bistline Thrust Theatre.

The “Hello, Dolly!" musical follows the story of Dolly Gallagher Levi, a strong-willed matchmaker, who makes her living through what she calls "meddling,” matchmaking with numerous sidelines. Dolly is a widow who makes her living by “putting her hand” in other people’s affairs.

The musical follows Dolly as she tries to find Horace Vandergelder, a widower and half-a-millionaire a spouse. "Hello, Dolly!" is one of the most enduring musical theatre hits, with four Broadway revivals and international success. It was also made into the 1969 film "Hello, Dolly!" that was nominated for seven Academy Awards, and won three. The production will also feature a live orchestra.

The show features numerous beloved hit songs, including “Put On Your Sunday Clothes,” “Ribbons Down My Back,” “Dancing,” “Before the Parade Passes By,” “It Only Takes a Moment” and the title song “Hello, Dolly.”

Tickets for the June 13 performance at 2 p.m. are $5 and are available at the ISU Box Office. For the rest of the shows, tickets are $15 for adults, $14 for faculty and staff, $10 for children and $7 for ISU students with a Bengal ID. Tickets are available at isu.edu/tickets and (208) 282-3595.
