ISU’S Rupp Debate team to host winter public debate Feb. 6

POCATELLO – Idaho State University’s Rupp Debate Team will host its winter public debate on Feb. 6 at 6 p.m. in the Pond Student Union Salmon River Suites.

The team will argue on the topic: “On balance, standardized testing is beneficial to K-12 education in the United States.

The debate is open to all faculty, students, and members of the community. Participants will ballot on their opinion on the issue before and after the round and may pose questions to the debaters during a question-and-answer period.

Joel Lovstedt, administrator of the Connor Academy Public Charter School, will moderate the evening’s discussions.

The event is free and refreshments will be served. Typical duration is approximately 90 minutes.
