POCATELLO— The Idaho State University Jazz Bands will present the 6th annual ISU Jazz Concert Series at the Portneuf Valley Brewery on Nov. 8, Jan 24 and April 11.

Concert dates include:

  • Nov. 8: 7 p.m. featuring the great Phoenix-based jazz guitarist and Arizona State University jazz professor Jeff Libman
  • Jan. 24: 7 p.m. featuring the Highland High School Jazz Band
  • April 11: 7 p.m. featuring jazz combos from Century High School

All concerts will be held at the Portneuf Valley Brewery and are free of charge.

Each year, Penny Pink, owner of the Portneuf Valley Brewery, donates $1,000 to the Bob Pink Jazz Scholarship fund, which allows the ISU jazz program to attract and retain gifted musicians from Idaho and beyond.

This February, the ISU Jazz Fest will present “Howard Wiley & Extra Nappy,” a high-energy Oakland-based funk band. This provides a special and unique opportunity to have a super-powered funk group of musicians come to Pocatello. This concert will take place on Feb. 9 from 9:30 to 11:30 p.m. at the Portneuf Valley Brewery. There is a $10 charge.
