Strong showing from ISU Faculty at the Intermountain Speech, Language, and Hearing Regional Conference


Recently the 2.5-day Intermountain Speech, Language, and Hearing Conference (IMASH) took place in Boise. This regional conference, occurring once every three years, represents state Speech, Language, and Hearing Associations from Idaho, Colorado, Utah, and Wyoming. Sixteen faculty members from the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders at ISU collectively presented 27% of the podium sessions and 61% of the poster sessions during the conference that was attended by over 270 professionals. ISU faculty presentations included topics on Telepractice, Augmentative and Alternative Communication, School-Age Language Development and Disorders, Serving Deaf/Hard-of-Hearing, Amplification Counseling, Early Intervention, Audiology Testing and Interesting Cases, Outcome measures, Voice, Swallowing, Stuttering Therapy, Hearing Protection, and Interprofessional Advocacy and Collaboration. Dr. Gabriel Bargen, Dr. Kristina Blaiser, Dr. Nancy Cheadle, Beth Guzi, Karrie Cummings Hansen, Amy Hardy, Dr. Jenn Holst, Dr. Daniel Hudock, Wendy Morgan, Dr. Diane Ogiela, Dr. Heather Ramsdell-Hudock, Heather Robinson, Dr. Corrie Smith, Shauna Smith, Mary Van Donsel, and Dr. Mary Whitaker delivered the peer-reviewed presentations.
