Carol Kirkpatrick Presents at Conference, Receives Award

Dr. Carol Kirkpatrick, Clinical Assistant Professor and Director of the ISU Wellness Center, recently presented at the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, Food and Nutrition Conference in Boston.  She and Tufts University Professor, Dr. Alice Lichtenstein presented on the topic "Going Coconut Over Saturated Fat?  Why so Much Confusion?"  Dr. Kirkpatrick is a registered dietitian, certified lipid specialist, and a fellow of the National Lipid Association.

Dr. Kirkpatrick was also honored as a SCAN (Sports, Cardiovascular and Wellness Nutrition) All-Star at a reception in Boston.  All-Stars are dietitians who have excelled in at at least one area of SCAN's specialty areas, and also demonstrate the value of cross-expertise in other areas, the ability to reach out to the public, and willingness to mentor and support fellow dietitians.  SCAN is a specialty practice group within the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
