Volunteers Needed for Physics Dept.'s Water Rocket Festival

June 11, 2026

A volunteer helps water rocket scientists build their water rocket.

Your help is needed to create the next generation of rocket scientists.

Idaho State University’s Department of Physics is looking for volunteers to help with this year’s Water Rocket Festival on Saturday and Sunday, June 27 and 28, at Tydeman Park, N. 8th Avenue and E. Young Street. Volunteers are needed to help with setup and takedown, and to assist budding rocketeers in building their rockets during the event. Setup will begin at 9 a.m. each day, with the Water Rocket Festival running from 10 a.m. to noon. Takedown will begin just after the event ends on both days.

If you are interested in volunteering, contact Steve Shropshire, professor of physics, at steveshropshire@isu.edu or (208) 282-2212.
