ISU United Way Bowling Teams Raise $1k of Over $18,000 Total
January 29, 2026
The ISU/United Way Campaign Committee recently honored the winners from the 2025 ISU United Way Bowling Tournament. The trophies were created and inscribed by ISU’s paint and sign making team - special thanks to Barry Hulet for creating the awards!
This fundraising tournament attracted over 70 players in 18 teams from 15 departments across campus.
With skill levels ranging from "need to use bumpers" to "expert" it was a lighthearted contest, full of laughs and some amazingly themed costumes. The ISU Game Center was busy for three hours as the teams each played one game. The scoring was the total team score divided by the number of players to give an average score per team.
Competition was hot in the race to the top (and bottom)! The winners for the Bowling Pin Trophy goes to Bengal Buck$ from Financial Aid and Scholarships. They had a (by no means) average score of 133.5. Captained by Jody Finnegan and accompanied by Debbie Green, Austyn Richards and Adam Smith, the Bengal Buck$ had an outstanding performance.
The Golf Award for the lowest score goes to the Office of Research Development. The costumes were hilarious as was their team name: Lab Rats of the Living Dead.
Special mention to the top bowler of the whole event who scored 166 - Congratulations Jason Russell from General Counsel!
Congratulations to the participants who collectively helped for raise $1000, (part of ISU’s total of $$18,278.36)* to benefit the programs that United Way supports. These programs help our friends, neighbors and families locally in areas of Health, Education and Financial Stability.
