ISU Regional Campuses: A Year of Enrollment Gains and Academic Expansion
March 26, 2026
Idaho State University has achieved a milestone year at its regional campuses in Idaho Falls and Twin Falls. This includes a five percent enrollment increase at the Idaho Falls campus for spring 2026 and the expansion of academic partnerships in Twin Falls. Jeremy Green, ISU’s chief campus administrator for Eastern and Southern Idaho, noted that ISU is aligning its educational opportunities with the needs of students and the community.
"This year was about more than checking boxes; it was about assessing student and community needs in our service regions," said Green. "We created a five-year plan by focusing on strong partnerships and efficient operations. This plan ensures ISU is a cornerstone of education, research, and community connection in Idaho Falls and the Magic Valley."
Academic collaboration has been an anchor of this year’s success. In Idaho Falls, ISU and the College of Eastern Idaho (CEI) held several summits with leaders, faculty, and student support staff. Together, they developed "2+2" transfer pathways that make it easier for students to move from an associate degree to an ISU bachelor’s degree. In Twin Falls, ISU's partnership with the College of Southern Idaho (CSI) has yielded immediate results. Together, ISU and CSI have launched new 2+2 pathways in mechanical and civil engineering. More pathways in areas such as social work, education, and health professions are already in development.
These strategic efforts are already yielding measurable results. Data for the Spring 2026 semester show a 5% enrollment increase on the Idaho Falls campus, and a 4.25% annual gain. Green said that this marks a shift from reorganization to sustainable growth. This shift ensures ISU continues to meet the evolving needs of the eastern and southern Idaho workforce.
"By aligning staff positions and skill sets with our institutional goals, we’ve doubled down on creating efficiencies and strategic programming. This shift ensures greater access to ISU and more confidence for students," Green said. "Our ISU Idaho Falls and Magic Valley locations are growing as a result of strong partnerships with CEI, CSI, and community leaders. By responding to student and community needs, our five-year roadmap is now driving results for Idaho’s students and workforce."
