ISU History Professor Featured on Journal of American History Podcast

Dr. Marie Stango, associate professor of history at ISU, was featured on the Journal of American History's podcast. Dr. Stango talked about her course, Women in U.S. History at ISU, and discussed innovative teaching strategies and assignments, including her years-long collaboration with the National Endowment for the Humanities-funded research project out of the University of Houston, Sharing Stories from 1977. In Dr. Stango's course, ISU students have researched and published biographies of some of the 2,000 delegates that attended the 1977 National Women's Conference in Houston.

The podcast was recorded following Dr. Stango's panel at the annual Organization of American Historians (OAH) conference in Philadelphia this past April. The OAH is the largest professional society dedicated to the teaching and study of American history, and publishes the Journal of American History (JAH), the journal of record in the field. The JAH selected Dr. Stango's panel for a special podcast episode to share the panel's insights with thebroader community.
