ISU Esports Teams to Compete at Nationals

The ISU ESports teams will be competing at the CECC National Championships in Waco, TX May 1-3 after the Rocket League and Overwatch teams earned spots while playing at a qualification tournament in February. 

Idaho State University's Rocket League team bested Sacramento State to quality. The Overwatch Varsity team qualified after a hard-fought 11-hour marathon, coming in second to top-ranked UC -Davis. 

“I'm extremely proud of my Overwatch captains for rallying the team to improve at such a fast rate and pushing us all the way to a buzzer-beater loss versus a team we were expected to stand no chance against,” said ESPorts coach Charles Johnston, aka Mystic.
