ISU College of Business to Host 4th Annual Financial Literacy Week
March 30, 2026

Idaho State University’s College of Business is looking to help you make the most of the money in your wallet.
Starting April 6, the College of Business will host its fourth annual Financial Literacy Week. Sponsored by Citizens Community Bank, ICCU, and Connections Credit Union, the 2026 schedule features a session on the ins and outs of making a large purchase, such as a car or home, a free showing of the film The Ultimate Gift at the Bengal Theater, and more. This year’s keynote speaker is Chris Petersen, chief financial officer with New West KnifeWorks, who will discuss "The Prepared Mind: How Forecasting the Future Frees You in the Present."
"Because personal finance is more 'personal' than it is 'finance,' an understanding of financial topics is crucial to minimizing your financial stress,” said Chris Chatwin, assistant professor of finance at ISU. “There is no one-size-fits-all plan, and keeping up with the ‘Joneses’ is not success. You define what financial success looks like, and that’s why financial literacy is so important."
All events are free and open to the public, with prize giveaways.
Started in 2023, Financial Literacy Week aims to educate and increase understanding of financial planning, taxes, estate planning, real estate, insurance, and more.
