Title: From Paris Archives to New Theory: Exploring the Work of Francois Laruelle

Presenter: Dr. Jonathan Fardy, Chair of the Art Department and Associate Professor, Departments of Art and History

Date/Location: April 16, 1 - 3 p.m., REND 129 and via Zoom

Description: This presentation will focus on Dr. Fardy’s archival research completed during his sabbatical (Fall 2025). Over the course of two trips to Paris, he researched the unpublished papers of François Laruelle (1937- 2024), founder of the theoretical project named "non- philosophy." His sabbatical research proved decisive for completing his forthcoming monograph: Material Thought: Towards a Non-Standard Formalism.
